The Quality Port

About This Site’s Content Developer

I currently work as an ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 auditor, but my first job was in a metal stamping and welding plant. One of my duties was to inspect assembled car seat frames that were supplied to Ford, GM, and Chrysler before they shipped. I received no training from my manager, so I had very little idea what I was doing or why. The only thing that saved me were a couple kind employees who were willing to pass along their knowledge. As my career progressed, and as I transitioned to different jobs within different companies, the training I received from management ranged from none to slim to decent. I always wished for a resource like the one I’ve developed here. The topics covered in The Quality Port are the culmination of nearly 40 years of my collected knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality management systems, and management approaches.
