I currently work as an ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 auditor, but my first job was in a metal stamping and welding plant. One of my duties was to inspect assembled car seat frames that were supplied to Ford, GM, and Chrysler before they shipped. I received no training from my manager, so I had very little idea what I was doing or why. The only thing that saved me were a couple kind employees who were willing to pass along their knowledge. As my career progressed, and as I transitioned to different jobs within different companies, the training I received from management ranged from none to slim to decent. I always wished for a resource like the one I’ve developed here.
